Experiencing live theatre can be transformative for many young people. And yet even with the cultural richness New York City offers, many of the city’s 1.9 million youth never have the opportunity to see a professional live production.

Theatreworks USA’s Free Summer Theatre program changes that!

By partnering with 150 local social service agencies and summer school programs, Theatreworks USA provides a high-quality, professional educational theatre experience for some of our city’s underserved youth.  Free Summer Theatre remains an important activity because last summer:

  • 30% of children surveyed at FST 2015 were experiencing live theatre for the very first time.
  • 87% of families believe the arts are extremely relevant in shaping the lives of children.
  • 46% of group leaders reported that they could only attend Free Summer Theatre 2016 because it is free.

With your support, we can produce the next Free Summer Theatre season of live performances offered to young New Yorkers at no cost. Share the thrill of the live theatre experience with some our city’s neediest children.

We are committed to performing our musical,  ”Pete the Cat ” , to 15,000 underserved youth and families this July and August but cannot do so without your help.   Make an impact on 15,000 NYC youth by supporting the 29th Anniversary Free Summer Theatre Season.
